About Me

Hello everyone and thank you for clicking onto my blog over here 🙂

My name is Nadia and my goal here is to connect animation, race and ethnicity to animation. I want to show how representations have changed since the 1900s and bring awareness to how animation has reflected race relations throughout time: in both good and bad ways. My main point is that while representations have definitely gotten better, there are still some problems here and there that, if brought to the surface, could improve the animation industry as a whole if addressed.

Since the scope of this project is limited to a few weeks I will be focusing primarily on American animation. However, I am interested in perhaps continuing this project in some way shape or form and if I do I will definitely be broadening my scope.

This blog is part of an ongoing project at the University of Queensland and I will be assessed on it! Therefore I will be making my best effort to make sure the information here is up to date, thorough and well-edited.

Personally, I have a very keen interest in animation and I was very excited to finally be able to do something with that interest within the confines of the history degree I am presently studying.
